Flash files are a popular file format and are generally published within web pages so that users can view the files using the flash built into web browsers. Now there is more of a need for standalone flash players so users can watch flash files that aren't embedded in a web browser. This is a great tool when paired with Ashampoo Clipfinder.

FLV Player is a simple standalone flash file player; it acts much like Windows Media Player but works with the flash file types. It is very easy to get all you have to do is go to their home page and download the file (here). Once you download the file then all you need to do is follow the simple install steps and at the end avoid the extra free programs that you probably don't need. At the end of the install they offer other free programs (probably from friends of theirs), but you can simply click no thank you on them and only install the FLV Player.

Once installed you only have to navigate to your files and open them using the FLV player. All the files I tested with FLV Player worked flawlessly and looked pretty good, the video quality was basically whatever the image quality was when I downloaded the file. FLV Player isn't a replacement for any other media players by any means but it's a nice way to watch any flash files you have. Most of the time flash files are more made for web content on websites and aren't typically viewed outside of a website, so the files don't play in typical media players; this player solves that issue for you.

I use the FLV Player a lot with the files that I download using Ashampoo Clipfinder; the Ashampoo program saves the files into the flash format so I need a player that can handle that. The FLV player works great and hasn't given me any problems yet. It doesn't use a lot of system resources and won't harm your computer. The program seems to be a safe one and I haven't gotten anything from my antivirus to tell me otherwise yet. The website also hasn't spammed my email address at all so that is an added bonus.

Check out the images I have attached of the program in motion, the interface is simple but effective. You get some simple tools like a zoom tool where you can zoom in up to two times the screen size. Then of course you have the standard Play, Stop, Forward, Rewind, and Pause buttons. FLV player also gives you a slide bar to navigate through the clip and then a volume level with a mute key. You can open up other files using the file button at the top right of the window and the URL button allows you to open a URL or streaming file from a website.

Well that is a quick overview of the FLV Player and what it can do for you. The program is a nice compact little Flash file player that can be used with any file that is in the flash format. I use this a lot when I download files from YouTube with Ashampoo Clipfinder. It plays these files great and is a simple way to play them without having to use the Ashampoo Clipfinder program.

With planning and foresight it's possible to score some unbelievable deals around town.

Make a list, broken down by store before you head out, this will keep you organized and you will know ahead of time what you are after.

One of the mistakes that newbie's make is to simply grab the flyer on the way in the door and then wander aimlessly checking out what's offered.

Make a note on your lists about sale hours, keeping in mind that some deals are only offered during special early bird hours.

Prioritize your wants and try to limit the number of stores you plan to visit, if you are running from one end of town to the other you will find that you are to late for many of the deals you wanted. Decide which ones are truly great must have offers and stick to those.

You will find advertisements appearing on store websites a few days before the sale announcing special deals available only through your local store. This means that not all stores from the same chain offer the same items. Prior to that however you can check out some great sites on the web for sneak peeks of what will be offered. www.blackfriday@gottadeal.com is one of my favorites. Nicely broken down by store and put into easy to read lists, this is the first site I hit for a peek.
